Japanese Restaurant Review in Dubai
Japanese restaurants are slowly becoming more common in Dubai, UAE.
Among them, TakaHisa is known as one of the most famous luxury Japanese restaurants in Dubai.
Because of its reputation and high prices, we had known about the restaurant for a long time but never had the chance to visit.
Recently, my husband invited me there for my birthday, and we finally experienced TakaHisa for the first time.
In this review, I’ll share the food, atmosphere, prices, and overall experience from a Japanese perspective.
What Kind of Restaurant is TakaHisa?
Before diving into the food review, here’s a quick overview of the restaurant.
- One of Dubai’s most famous luxury Japanese restaurants
- Known for premium wagyu and sushi
- Frequently visited for birthdays and special occasions
- Michelin-recognized restaurant
- Estimated budget: around AED 1,500–2,500+ per person depending on the course
TakaHisa Dubai Location
TakaHisa has two locations inside luxury hotels in Dubai:
- Downtown Dubai
- Banyan Tree Dubai
This time, we visited the Banyan Tree Dubai location.
The restaurant overlooks Ain Dubai, one of Dubai’s famous landmarks.
The hotel itself felt luxurious and elegant.

Wagyu Jewelry Box

The first dish we tried was the “Wagyu Jewelry Box.”
It contained premium wagyu beef, sea urchin, and salmon roe served beautifully over rice.
Both the wagyu and uni tasted incredibly fresh and rich.
Price: AED 1,500 (approx. USD 400)
Seafood Salad & Grilled Salmon Belly Roll & Ozaki Beef Katsu Sand

Seafood Salad
A seafood salad generously filled with fresh seafood.
Price: AED 400 (approx. USD 110)
Grilled Salmon Belly Roll
As someone who loves salmon roe, I couldn’t resist ordering this roll.
The amount of ikura used was surprisingly generous, and it tasted amazing.
Price: AED 330 (approx. USD 90)
Ozaki Beef Katsu Sand
This was actually my children’s favorite dish.
The beef was incredibly soft and tender — probably the softest katsu sandwich we’ve ever eaten.
Price: AED 490 (approx. USD 130)
Birthday Cake

Since it was my birthday, the restaurant kindly prepared a birthday cake for us after dinner.
The melon flavor was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet, which I think many Japanese people would appreciate.
Even though we were already full, our family still finished the whole cake.
Restaurant Atmosphere

Since TakaHisa is located inside a luxury resort hotel, the terrace area overlooks beautiful pools and ocean views.
The atmosphere felt elegant yet relaxing.
The staff were also very friendly and immediately offered to help take photos for us.
Final Thoughts on TakaHisa Dubai
TakaHisa is definitely one of Dubai’s most luxurious Japanese restaurants.
The ingredients are premium, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the overall experience feels special.
However, the prices are also very high, so I honestly felt impressed by how often some regular customers must visit. 😄
Personally, I think TakaHisa is perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or other special occasions.
If you are looking for a luxury Japanese dining experience in Dubai, it may be worth visiting at least once.
